The 3d STSM Call is Open NOW

 

STSM (Short Time Scientific Mission) is one of the COST interments, aimed at strengthening the existing networks by allowing scientists (particularly young scientists) to go to an institution or laboratory in another COST Country to foster collaboration

To assure an adequate involvement of all Working Groups of the Action - according to the decision of the Management Committee from 03/10/2016 - each Working Group will get the dedicated funding to realize, ar least, 2 STSMs during ongoing budget year, based on WG-internal thematic calls.

For each call, applications with the following pieces of information have to be send to the leader of the corresponding Working Group:

• Name of applicant, Institution
• Name of the Host institution
• Objectives and working plan
       1. Aim and motivation
       2. Contribution to the WG objectives
       3. Techniques to be used
       4. Planning of the STSM
• Estimated duration period and funding required.

Applicant has to prepare the application for STSM on-line following the link:

and in parallel send to the E-Mail address of the WG leader and of the STSM coordinator:

The following documents should be provided:
- A letter of invitation from a senior researcher affiliated to the Host institution
- STSM application form (attached to this email as a pdf document)
- A support letter / email from the Home Institution
- A full C.V. (including a list of academic publications - if applicable)

All STSM should follow the rules established in the COST Vademecum, particularly:
The minimum duration for an STSM is 5 days, maximum duration is 180 days (if you are ECI), or 90 days (if you are not ECI).
Early Career Investigator (ECI) - A researcher within a time span of up to 8 years from the date they obtained the PhD/doctorate (full-time equivalent).

TD1406 STSM WG3 Open Call

There is an open call for one STSM addressing WG3 topics of interest.

Objectives: the STSM must match the contents of the future public report of WG3, on integration of HBs in their surroundings, and more particularly:
- control and monitoring external factors with impact on HBs and their surroundings
- management of HBs and their surroundings
- optimisation strategy for HBs and surroundings
- communication of HBs and their surroundings

The application procedure is coordinated by the STSM coordinator and the selection procedure will be responsibility of each WG.

Please do not book your travel before getting the approval of the STSM and before receiving the GRANT LETTER!

They are particularly intended for young scientists.

The 2d STSM Call and ECI Conference Grant Call

 

STSM (Short Time Scientific Mission) is one of the COST interments, aimed at strengthening the existing networks by allowing scientists (particularly young scientists) to go to an institution or laboratory in another COST Country to foster collaboration

To assure an adequate involvement of all Working Groups of the Action - according to the decision of the Management Committee from 03/10/2016 - each Working Group will get the dedicated funding to realize 2 STSM during ongoing budget year.

 

The preliminary notes with expression of interest with the following pieces of information have to be send to the leader of the corresponding Working Group by January, 31st, 2017 latest:

  • Name of applicant, Institution
  • Name of the Host institution
  • estimated duration period and funding required.

 

All STSM applicants should submit the application on-line following the link:

All STSM should follow the rules established in the COST Vademecum, particularly:

The applicants should preferably be a postgraduate student or postdoctoral fellow or employer of an institution of a COST Country/Action participant.

Duration of the STSM is min. one week (5 working days) and max. 3 months.

The STSM grant covers only travel and subsistence. Meaning, 60-90 EUR/day for daily allowance, 300 EUR for travel expenses
(the total must not exceed 2500 EUR up to three months)

 

The application procedure is coordinated by the STSM coordinator and the selection procedure will be approved by the MC. 

 

Also an ECI Conference Grant is open. The application procedure will be coordinated by the STSM coordinator and the selection procedure will be approved by the MC. The deadline for this FIRST ECI Conference Grant application is January, 31st, 2017.
